Tutorial: Servos and Pots with the Arduino
Posted on 28. Apr, 2009 by ModuleTronics in Tutorials
This great video shows you how easy it is to wire-up a potentiometer to an Arduino microcontroller board, read the resistance value, and then control a standard hobby servo in unison. The simple software reads the analog to digital converter to read the pot value and then does a simple calculation to arrive at the length of the timing pulse needed to drive the servo.
They are using the handy Proto Shield board which makes doing small projects directly on the Arduino very easy. It plugs directly onto the standard pinout of the board and brings the various signals and everything else you need within easy reach of the breadboard.
